I don't think i'll have much time with our brief internet access to update my blog while i'm in Haiti. Although I wish I could. I am leaving tomorrow morning and very excited. I need to be in bed right now but I just feel like I don't have everything packed and I'm thinking about all that I need to have prepared. We packed on Monday and weighed our luggage. I then unpacked some and re-packed.. with me being a last minute packer usually, this kinda got me off my rhythm and I feel weird!
Well I'm keeping this short and asking for all your prayers for our team. Pray that we will do God's will while we are in Haiti. Things to help them help themselves. Pray for our safety and health. Thanks so much!!

BUSY
We will be Haiti bound in about a week. I'm not one to always blame someone for things going on. But I truly feel that Satan is doing his best to make sure I am not prepared for this trip!
We have been planning it for months. We've been covering it in prayer we've been going to meetings etc. Yet these last few weeks have become a blur. I've had car problems and health problems. And I am BUSY, yes maybe i'm busy doing "good" things but its not always good to be BUSY even if we are BUSY doing "GOOD". Get what I mean?
In this last week before my trip I am going to take time away to just BE, to LISTEN, WAIT, and HEAR from God.
This morning in my quiet time I felt God say "This week you need to hear from me about Haiti, I'm talking take some time and listen."
I sense God pointing out to me that if i'm not careful I am going to be too busy to hear how and what God wants us to do while in Haiti. What part of my testimony will help the people I meet? What teaching will benefit the church/community? etc.
I am thankful that I realized today what was happening, that I've been so BUSY and letting myself get worn out that I was about to embark on a trip with half of a tank, (mentally, spiritually, emotionally physically)
I know we are going to have a life altering trip not only for those we meet but for ourselves. I'm not going to let Satan disrupt what God is preparing to do with us while in Haiti!
This is a lesson to all of us at all times. You don't need to go to Haiti to know that God wants to use you daily. We need to hear from God and go out every morning with a full tank! Get close enough to God to hear when and how He wants you to touch the lives around you!

1 year
Yesterday marked my 1 year of being the Youth Coordinator at Blue Ridge Fellowship. I am amazed at how quickly the year has come and gone. Its had its ups and downs but i've never felt more at peace and where i'm supposed to be than I do right now.
I look forward to many years serving in this community. Oh it was probably almost a year ago I posted something about how we would see people jump on board or step to the side. I am so happy to see all that have gotten on board with what God is doing here. I can't wait to see us yet again grab a hold of what God is planning for this coming year and the next 10 years!
Our pastor nearly died not too long ago. Suddenly coming down with pancreatitis its a miracle he is still with us today. Its a miracle he has the energy and strength to do what he is doing today. I am thankful for all the prayers that came from around the world for him and his family. I admire the strength of his family during that tough time.
There were so many unexpected negative things that happened in the past year. But what stands out is the positive.
Most importantly new salvations and baptisms! Our youth room is almost done, the kitchen is getting started. Spiritual and numerical growth, new friendships and so much more!
God has grabbed our hands and helped us get through hard times. We definitely have an enemy that wants to see us fail. But He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world! I can't wait to look back a year from now and reflect on all God has done!
